Postales del Plata Tango Demonstrations and Lessons

Tango - In Pursuit of Maximum Pleasure
"Many different styles of Tango have developed. Like every living thing, Tango is evolving. No two people are quite the same to dance with, and each teacher is a little bit different. In searching for the style that gave both me and others the maximum amount of pleasure, my conclusion was surprisingly simple. The people who gave me the most joy to dance with were those who had been dancing in Buenos Aires before the watershed year of 1955, and those who danced with the same technique." This according to totaltango.com founder, Christine Denniston

And there are many other opinions and styles. The common thread in all tango is grace, beauty, athleticism, a working together of partners to become one with the music and each other. 1935 is seen as the beginning of the Golden Age of Tango, and the following decade was one of astounding creativity. The dance matured into one of the most beautiful couple dances the world has ever seen; a subtle, heady blend of sex and chess. Composers, arrangers, lyricists and singers all reached new heights. It was the period in the Tango's history when all the branches of this extraordinary art were most closely integrated, and each spurred the other on to ever more wondrous achievements.

In 1955 the coup that ousted Per—n created a very different political climate, one in which Tango was suppressed. The fall of the military junta in 1983 combined with the phenomenal success throughout the world of the hit show, Tango Argentino, thrust Tango back into the spotlight. Dances that had been working underground came back into the open, and people who hadn't danced for twenty-five years gradually began to dance again. Today is still the early stage in the renaissance of the Tango. The future is open to the possibilities of a new synthesis, new directions, and new riches.

Renowned tango dancer and instructor, Enzo Delucca, offers private tango shows and private dancing lessons at Chacras de Coria Lodge and Valle de Uco Lodge. Shows and lessons can be part of a complete vacation itinerary, or you can arrange for these activities separately to suit your schedule.
