After a brief flight on a full size jet over the stunning Andes Mountains you will arrive at the ultra modern airport of Santiago. You driver will be waiting for you to take you to PanAmericana Hotel Providencia.
Your hotel is located on a quiet, tree-lined street, within easy walking distance of the bustling barrio of Providencia. It is complete with a sheltered courtyard, pool and sunny, greenhouse style dining room. You will find this a great, safe, convenient location to explore local shops, cafes, and culture on your own. You can walk to a local restaurant, or take an entirely safe taxi to where ever you like. Take the suggestion of your driver for dining spots, or choose one of Santiago's finest restaurants from the list provided to you.
Dinner on your own. Overnight at PanAmericana Hotel Providencia.
Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be met for your day of winery touring. Your destination today is the Casablanca Valley. This is one of Chile's Central Valleys, located midway between the Andes and the Pacific. In this case the just-completed freeway from Santiago to the coastal Riviera of Vina del Mar, takes you quickly into the heart of this verdant and quickly developing region.
Your exact schedule will depend on your desires, in conjunction with the suggestions of your guide. You will visit three wineries today, each very different in design, concept, and wine making philosophy.
--William Cole Vineyards is a product of a US citizen of the same name, who recently moved to Chile to build this modern Californian southwestern-style adobe winery. Expect high quality wines crafted with the latest technology and evolving wine making theory.
--Indomita Winery produces mid- to upper range wines in their dramatic, abstract castle-inspired winery built on a hill overlooking the Casablanca Valley. Here you will also find a fine bistro with a matching view.
--Vina Mar is the valley's most recent winery, producing mid-level local wines mostly for the Chilean market. Their facility is a surprisingly modern Moroccan style structure.
Lunch (on your own) can be enjoyed at one of several locations. Indomita's bistro is an excellent choice as well as the tiny, upscale restaurant at the Morande Winery.
After visiting these wineries, you will be ready to cruise back to Santiago. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the Panamericana Hotel Providencia.
Day 3
After breakfast at the hotel, depart to explore two classic Chilean wineries within Santiago's city boundaries. In fact, both wineries are subject to urban development pressure, and are planting additional vineyards in other valleys to replace land lost to residential development around their original wineries.
Concha y Toro, Chile's largest and most famous winery, is how most of us first heard about Chilean wines. Although their products have become synonymous with good value for price, producing over 50 labels and exporting to over 100 countries, they produce limited-edition, high quality vintages as well. No introduction to Chilean wines is complete without a visit to their now vast facilities, and the 'casillero del diablo'.
To put this global growth in perspective you will also visit the oldest family run winery in Chile, Cousino Macul, started in 1856. Here brick warehouses, under shady trees, still hold long dark rows of oaken barrels. Flickering lights, worn stone stairways and a delightful wine, lend an entirely different perspective to historic Chilean wine! 70 percent of these fine wines are exported.
After your two days of training, you will be well prepared to appreciate a stop at Chile's premier wine store, Mundo del Vino, en route to your hotel. This is the perfect spot to buy wines to take home with you...or to enjoy during the rest of your trip.
Dinner on your own. Overnight at PanAmericana Hotel Providencia.
Day 4
After breakfast at the hotel, your driver will pick you up and transfer you to the airport in time for your flight on to your next adventure.
