Arrival Day
Greeting at the Mendoza International Airport. Your multilingual host and driver will offer you a short city tour through Mendoza and Chacras de Coria, home of many of the most famous wineries in Argentina. Stop in for a tour and tasting at Bodega LaGarde, or perhaps Bodega Alta Vista. Then you will drive south to verdant Valle de Uco (about an hour's drive) for lunch at the charming Posada del Jamon with a sampling of small boutique wines. After lunch a tour and tasting at the Salentein Winery set in the foothills of the Andes. The winery was designed by Mendoza architects Bormida & Yanzon, and in its size and aesthetic ambition is one of the most spectacular in South America.

This evening you will check-in at Postales del Plata's Valle de Uco Lodge, a verdant finca and casually elegant country retreat. You will have time to relax, walk through the vineyards, take a swim, or enjoy a massage. Then fresh out of the mud oven picadas, followed by a sumptuous dinner with a fine selection of Cuyo wines. Overnight at Valle de Uco Lodge.

Day 2
After breakfast, a driving tour through Valle de Uco with a visit to the J&F Lurton Winery for a private tour and tasting. A short drive to the Clos de Siete vineyards and a visit to the Monteviejo Winery where you will have a gourmet lunch on the top deck of the four-story winery with dramatic views of the towering Andean peaks. After lunch a drive to the southern end of the valley to visit and tour the Finca La Celia Winery. You can also choose to take a horseback ride up to their private reservoir.

This evening will be spent back at Valle de Uco Lodge, where a sampling of the Uco Valley's finest wines will be enjoyed on the verandah and continue through dinner. Local music and dancing. Overnight at Valle de Uco Lodge.

Day 3
After breakfast, your host and driver will take you south, about an hour drive, to the oasis and town of San Rafael. This is another of Mendoza's fine wine regions, and home to numerous olive and fruit fincas. This is also a major recreation area, with fly-fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, whitewater rafting, windsurfing, hiking, and skiing (in season) as premiere activities. Visit and tasting at of the Valentin Bianchi Winery, one of the few remaining large-scale wineries owned by its original Argentine family.

A drive into the famous territory of Villa Atuel to visit another of the renowned historical Argentine wineries; Goyenechea. This is one of our favorite wineries, a complete village actually. Private tasting and lunch.

Drive back to San Rafael in the late afternoon to check-in at the Tower Hotel Suites. Relax, take a siesta, a swim, work-out in the hotel gym, or take a stroll along the town's charming streets. Other optional activities can be arranged. Dinner this evening at genuine parrilla restaurant in San Rafael. Overnight at the Tower Hotel Suites. (Optional accommodations and meals can be at Los Alamos, an old-fashioned estancia/finca on the outskirts of town.)

Day 4
After breakfast, visit Bodega Lavaque. This traditional family-owned winery is a classic. Tour and tasting. Then on to an authentic Argentine asado on the banks of the Atuel River, complete with roasted lamb and many cuts of beef, fresh salads, and of course, fine vino tinto. If you would like to enjoy water sports, in season, whitewater rafting and kayaking are available, or you can take another shot at fly-fishing. A day fly-fishing excursions is also available to Rio Tigre for those who prefer this option.

Late afternoon your host and driver will take you back north, through the Uco Valley, and in to Chacras de Coria. Check-in at Chacras de Coria Lodge, an intimate Mediterranean-style retreat in one of Mendoza's oldest and most renowned wine areas. Relax, take a swim, walk into the town square, or enjoy a massage. Then tapas on the verandah or by the parrilla before an exquisite dinner prepared by our executive chef. Enjoy it all with fine area wines. Overnight at Chacras de Coria Lodge.
