Chile Wine Tours

A Blend of Tradition and Innovation
Chile is a string bean of a country; 4,300 kilometers long and so narrow that you can see across its width, from the snowy Andes Cordillera to the Pacific Ocean. Nestled into the valleys of these fertile lands are some of the finest grape growing regions in the world.

Santiago--The majestic Andean Mountain Range can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Due to its geographic location, Santiago is one of the few capital cities in the world which has easy access both to ski slopes--just 50 kilometers away--and beaches--100 kilometers away. It is in fact possible to visit the modern ski resorts as well as the famous beach resort of Vi–a del Mar or picturesque Valparaiso, Chile's main port, in just one day. Numerous villages located in the countryside around Santiago invite the visitor to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of country life. Guests may also visit the vineyards and try the delicious Chilean wines in a single day.

The Maipo Valley--on the outskirts of Santiago, is full of grace and tradition, and some of the world's most renowned red wines (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carménère) are produced here.

The Casablanca Valley--located an 1.5 hours from Santiago and 30 minutes from the port city of Valparaiso--is characterized by its production of white wines (Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay). Its cool climate and diverse agricultural zones allow for the adaptation of a number of different grape varieties.

The Rapel Valley--which includes the Colchagua and Cachapoal Valleys, is a 2 to 4 hour drive from Santiago, depending on how often you stop to enjoy the scenery, or to taste a fine Chilean vintage. The region is known for its huasos, or Chilean cowboys. Most of the grape-growing production here goes into making red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, CarmŽnre, and Malbec.

We custom-tailor every excursion, however, the popular sample itineraries you can click on below offers an ideal way for you to start thinking about how best to design your trip. Once we have your input, including your budget considerations, we'll design an initial itinerary just for you, then work together until we have your ideal trip planned. Day excursions for wine touring and sightseeing are also available from Santiago--to Maipo Valley, to Casablanca Valley, to Valparaiso/Vina del Mar, and in winter, to the nearby world-class ski areas.
